DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin artist Kayleigh Murray and Facilitators from Blue Room
 \, the Bluecoat’s inclusive arts project\, for a hands-on workshop explo
 ring character design.\n\n\n\nInspired by Kayleigh’s gaggle of mischievo
 us gingerbread people from her 2024 LUSH collaboration\, Gingerbread Party
 \, participants will learn to create a character full of life and ready to
  leap off the page. Create a mini comic book zine to storyboard your chara
 cter’s next adventure and bring them to life with FUN modelling soap.\n
 ‘I like to give the characters I draw movement and a story. I like messi
 ng around with the way that they move.’\nBlue Room artist Kayleigh Murra
 y’s playful work often features characters who are dancing and having a 
 good time. She hopes that people feel joyful and happy when they look at h
 er drawings\, with vibrant scenes that make you smile and giggle. Her ging
 erbread characters boogied their way across a LUSH knotwrap and gift box d
 esign in winter 2024.\nThe Bluecoat is the UK's first arts centre\, a work
 ing home for artists for almost 100 years. A key part of the Bluecoat’s 
 story for the past few decades has been the development of Blue Room\, an 
 inclusive arts programme supporting learning disabled and neurodivergent a
 rtists.\nSince 2008\, Blue Room artists have been meeting at the Bluecoat 
 to explore the galleries and develop and share their own work. The project
  aims to break down barriers and highlight Blue Room artists' talent and c
 reativity. Being part of Blue Room is often transformative for its members
 \, empowering many to develop their creative practice while building lifel
