 RASS BAND OF GREAT BRITAIN JOIN FORCES IN LIVERPOOL\n\nWhen music is a cat
 alyst for change it sparks visceral commitment and optimism.\nBrilliant yo
 ung musicians from two of the nation’s youth ensembles are coming\ntoget
 her to perform Gavin Higgin’s Concerto Grosso for Brass Band and Orchest
 ra.\nConducted by Jessica Cottis\, performances take place on Friday 12 Ap
 ril at\nLiverpool’s Philharmonic Hall and on Sunday 14 April at London
 ’s Southbank\nCentre.\n\nCo-commissioned by The National Youth Orchestra
 \, the Concerto Grosso is\ncelebrated as a jamboree of sound and highlight
 s that both symphony orchestras\nand brass bands are a living\, vital and 
 integral part of British culture.\n\nThe second part of the programme sees
  The National Youth Orchestra embrace\nthe energy of Prokofiev’s extraor
 dinary Symphony No. 5. One of the greatest\ngestures of musical defiance a
 nd hope of all time. Written in 1945\, this music looks\nforward to the fu
 ture.\n\nThe adventure doesn’t stop there – in Liverpool teenage music
 ians will be popping\nup in unexpected places to share extraordinary music
  across the city\; lead\nworkshops and inspire others to play their part a
 nd get excited about music.\n\nThe National Youth Orchestra and National Y
 outh Brass Band will each perform at the\nTung auditorium in Liverpool on 
 Thursday 11 April. The Orchestra\, under the creative direction of Delia S
 tevens\, will take audiences on a daring musical adventure\, with composer
 s whose music is a catalyst to new ideas and creativity\; and on Saturday 
 13 April the NYBB perform Karl Jenkins’ first work for brass band.\n\nAn
 d in London prior to the concert\, the Clore Ballroom will pulsate with th
 e vibrant\nenergy of Julius Eastman’s creative provocation\, Stay on it!
 \n\nWith these young musicians yet to find their limits\, audiences will w
 itness\nunforgettable\, unbridled talent. Tickets are free for teens for A
 LL of the\nperformances\, unlocking the chance for many young people to se
 e an orchestra\nof their peers live – sometimes for the very first time.
