SUMMARY:: Liverpool Masonic Hall: Pour and Serve
DESCRIPTION:POUR AND SERVE by CAITLIN GLEESON\n\nA drink with a bartender w
ho flips the script on gender\, power and ‘harmless’ banter.\n\nThis s
olo performance in a bar uses real stories to examine the language of sexu
al harassment and demonstrate how it forms part of a sinister culture of v
iolence against women.\n\nAs part of Hope Street Ltd’s On The Verge Fest
ival\, this new\, intimate performance takes place in a working bar. Write
r and performer Caitlin Gleeson serves more than just drinks as she uses h
er own experiences of sexual harassment at work to show that ‘harmless
’ banter can have devastating effects. Compliments and threatening comme
nts alike are dissected through a careful mix of humour\, truth\, and free
drinks.\n\nNearly half a million sexual assaults take place in the UK eac
h year (Rape Crisis) and over half of women experience sexual harassment i
n the workplace (Everyday Sexism). By using personal stories to explore a
widespread issue that still largely remains taboo\, Pour and Serve seeks
to begin an urgently needed conversation.\n\nPour and Serve uses humorou
s\, disturbing and real stories to show with unsettling clarity how langu
age is intrinsic to violence against women.\n\nPour and Serve by Caitlin
 Gleeson\n\n19-21st October 2017 - 2pm\, 4pm and 5.30pm\n\nVenue: Liverp
 ool Masonic Hall\, 22 Hope Street\, L1 9BY\n\nPart of a double bill with
Under My Skirt\n\nTickets for the double bill are £5 and can be booked
via TicketQuarter by calling 0844 8000 410 or online atwww.ticketquarter.c
