SUMMARY:: Liverpool Irish Festival: Times Past: Kieran Murray
DESCRIPTION:\nTimes Past: Kieran Murray\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKieran Murray is a v
isual explorer and documentarist.\n\nHe seeks to uncover stories that conn
ect people to the abandoned houses he continues to witness within Ireland
’s rural landscapes.\n\nKieran has an archive of hundreds of photos of t
hese cottages\, buried in the landscape from Donegal-to-Cork\, Galway-to-W
icklow. Working with the Festival\, Kieran has selected an image collectio
n that focuses on the domestic\, honouring the everyday items that we may
not think we need\, but miss when we leave. The items that create nostalgi
a\, or a hunger for ‘home’. These images concentrate on objects that p
rovided nourishment or succour\, warmth and safety\; the memories of which
we associate with home\, shelter and care.\n\nBelow are a handlful of Kie
ran’s images. For the Festival\, the selection will be expanded to 50 im
ages that refelect ‘hunger’\; hunger for safety\, home\, domestic comf
ort and sanctuary. Be sure to come back to see the fuller exhibit.\n\nThis
work contributes to our Heritage work strand.\n\n\n\nSee Times Past: Ki
 eran Murray here\n\n\n\n\n
