SUMMARY:Liverpool Cathedral: Liverpool Cathedral: 'Stations of the Resurrec
 tion' by Rob Floyd
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 2 April 2016 at 16.00\nStations of the Resurrection Ex
hibition Launch Event with the artist Rob Floyd at Liverpool Cathedral\n\
nExhibition runs Wednesday 30 March - Sunday 15 May 2016\n\nThe exhibitio
n\, commissioned by Liverpool Cathedral\, follows on from the widely accla
imed ‘Stations of the Cross’ cycle the artist previously created for M
anchester Cathedral.\n\n‘Painting has always been my means to engage wit
h the Divine’\n\nRob Floyd said “The Stations of the Resurrection is
far less well known or\, indeed\, established than the Stations of the Cro
ss\, perhaps this extra layer of mystery appealed. Certainly Liverpool Cat
hedral being the Cathedral Church of the Risen Christ made the idea of the
project feel right.”\n\nThe impressive art series has been created with
the artist’s preferred medium\, oil on canvas. Rob said “For me oil p
aint has a visceral\, living\, even mystical property which I feel has an
incredible power and\, indeed\, life of its own.”\n\nOf the subject matt
er\, Rob continues “Painting has always been my means with which to atte
mpt to engage with the Divine. From as early as I can remember I have alwa
ys felt that the world is inherently full of meaning and I’m thankful th
at I have never been touched with that modern 'existential angst' of being
all alone in a meaningless universe.\n\nHaving the opportunity to directl
y engage in producing a Stations of the Cross cycle and now the Stations o
f the Resurrection has been an incredible opportunity and an amazing journ
ey\, both in terms of my artistic and spiritual development. I have been s
hown great kindness and support from the cathedral which has been quite ov
 erwhelming.”\n\nwww.robfloyd.co.uk\n\n[gallery td_select_gallery_slide="
