  arts. Learn about Liverpool Biennial's theme of Kinship with Phosphoros T
 heatre.\n\nBOOK HERE\n\nA creative workshop for 14-19 year olds interested
  in the arts to explore the Liverpool Biennial’s theme of Kinship. Led b
 y Phosphoros Theatre\, the workshop will draw on the voices and experience
 s of refugees.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\nWhat does it mean to h
 ave a kinship? To a place\, to the people there\, to your culture? Join Ph
 osphoros Theatre who work with and for asylum and refugee communities thro
 ugh the theatre and performance. They will deliver a workshop reflective o
 f the international contemporary practices of the Biennial\, expanding und
 erstandings of kinship\, connection\, home and rootedness.\n\nLiverpool Bi
 ennial 2021\, The Stomach and The Port\, takes the curatorial approach of 
 'Kinship'\; the bonds and relationships which connect us to our families\,
  the community and beyond\, to include the wider world of nature and techn
 ology.\n\nThe Workshop will:\n\n- Be a creative exercise in doing\, making
  and thinking that will enable young people to learn more about refugee ex
 periences\n\n- Create an opportunity for the young people to think and exp
 ress in a creative or contemporary way in relation to The Stomach and The 
 Port..\n\nThe overall session should leave the attendees with some things 
 to think about\, do\, question\, see and respond to in their personal crea
 tive journeys.\n\nAbout Phosphoros Theatre\n\nPhosphoros Theatre is a char
 ity that makes socially engaged performance with\, for\, and by refugees a
 nd asylum seekers. They make and hold space for those with forced migratio
 n backgrounds to voice\, reflect on and respond to their lived experience\
 , taking charge of the narratives that seldom include their perspective. W
 e create nationally touring productions\, deliver one-off and regular arts
  work with refugees\, train professionals and provide paid work\, training
  and development opportunities for refugee artists and youth workers.\n\nh

  Biennial is the UK’s largest festival of contemporary visual art. Takin
 g over unexpected and public spaces\, historic sites and art galleries\, t
 he Biennial has been transforming the city through art for over two decade
 s. The 11th edition\, The Stomach and the Port\, explores notions of the b
 ody and ways of connecting with the world. 50 international artists and tw
 o collectives are taking part in this year’s Biennial. A dynamic program
 me of free exhibitions\, performances\, screenings and fringe events unfol
 ds over the 12 weeks\, shining a light on the city’s vibrant cultural sc
 ene.\n\nIMPORTANT\n\nThis event will be recorded\, you can opt out of reco
 rding or turn off your camera if you do not wish to be recorded.\n\n*Pleas
 e only register if you are aged between 14 - 19 year olds\, always seek pa
