SUMMARY:John Lennon Art and Design Building: LightNight 2019 - LJMU John Le
nnon Building: New Spaces\, Technology and Dance
DESCRIPTION:NEW SPACES\, TECHNOLOGY AND DANCE\n19:30 – 21:30\nLJMU John L
ennon Building\nJohnson Foundation Auditorium\n\nThis new media projection
installation will be interspersed with live interdisciplinary dance perfo
rmances throughout the evening. By using technology and choreography in co
njunction this way\, the installation aims to disrupt the rituals of the t
raditional theatrical experience. Live dancers and virtual video performer
s work together to create a narrative that reflects how we can passively w
alk\, struggle to balance and inevitably fall into rituals throughout life
.\n\nThe installation will also include other dance performances in a virt
ual experience. Captured using 360-degree immersive video this unique meta
experience puts the audience participant at the centre of two other dance
and technology works . The user can direct an alternative perspective of
how performances can be experienced and presented.\n\nThese works are the
results of a number of collaborative projects working with LJMU Dance Staf
 f \, Screen School staff &amp\; LJMU BA &amp\; MA Dance Students.\n\nMore:
