SUMMARY:dot-art Gallery: LightNight 2018: dot-art: Metamorphosis - John Pet
 ch x OMD
DESCRIPTION:METAMORPHOSIS – JOHN PETCH X OMD\n17:00 – 22:00\n\ndot-art
 Gallery\n\nExhibitions\, Family Friendly\, Performance\n\nMetamorphosis is
a new exhibition of paintings and drawings by artist John Petch. In 2016\
, John was asked by electronic band OMD\, who hail from Wirral\, to design
the cover for their new album. This body of work comprises the developmen
t and preparatory work for this painting\, the accompanying single art wor
k designs and subsequent pieces inspired by the creation of these now high
ly recognisable artworks.\n\nThe artist says that with the cover design\,
he aimed to represent a morphing from one form to another\; colour to blac
k and white\, a change of view point from human to mechanical\, creating a
tension between what is known and experienced to what is new. Limited edi
tion prints of the cover of ‘The Punishment of Luxury’\, signed by bot
h the artist and the band\, will be available to buy on the night.\n\nThe
exhibition will take place in the dot-art Gallery\, with Queen Avenue host
ing a surprise musical appearance\, as well as a range of food and drink s
talls\, making for a party atmosphere!  All welcome after 19:30.\n\nTicke
