Delve into the vastness of space and investigate the distance between astronomical objects, and discover what was happening on Earth when light left distant objects in our Universe. Experience past climates and learn how climate scientists and astronomers investigate and understand our planet and others in our solar system and beyond. Peek into the not-so-distant future to investigate the impacts of climate change, and find out more about the discovery of new Earth-like planets.
This fun, interactive installation features experts from LJMU’s Astrophysics Research Institute and the Department of Geography and will help you gain new perspectives on how scientists work out how far away things are in space.Learn what was happening on Earth when light left distant objects in our Universe, and measure light and distance using spectral lamps and spectroscopes.
Join in with hands on activities exploring how climate has, and continues to change over time.   Bring past-climates to life and learn about how scientists investigate and understand these changes, and look into the not-so-distant future to investigate the impacts of human induced climate change.
