SUMMARY:George Henry Lee's: Lamb (15)
DESCRIPTION:As part of Liverpool Irish Festival 2018\nFilm Starts 3pm\nTick
ets £4/3\n\nMichael Lamb (Liam Neeson) is an idealistic young Brother\, l
iving in a brutal\, west Ireland reformatory.\n\nThe recent death of his f
ather and growing anger at the mistreatment of a resident boy (Hugh O’Co
nor) prompts Lamb to take dramatic action\; cash in his inheritance and fl
ee with the boy to England. Depicting an unconventional relationship betwe
en a naïve young cleric and a troubled child\, the film is vivid and unse
ttling. Unlikely to have been made later -as scandals of clerical abuse be
came rife- it features Neeson in his first lead film role plus the remarka
ble debut of Hugh O’Conor (four years before his Oscar nomination for M
y Left Foot).\n\nThis is an adaptation of Bernard MacLaverty’s acclaimed
novel\, directed by Colin Gregg.\n\nBuy tickets here
