SUMMARY:Lady Lever Art Gallery: Lady Lever Art Gallery: Another View: Women
  in the Arts Career Day
DESCRIPTION:An important aspect of our exhibition 'Another View: Landscapes
by Women Artists' is questioning the categorisation of artists into amate
ur and professional\, given that this tends to be a gendered divide. Drawi
ng on this theme around career barriers for women and supporting the profe
ssional transition\, this day is all about demystifying creative roles (pa
rticularly in galleries)\, understanding the diverse career paths people t
ake\, and supporting women with identifying their unique and transferrable
skills.\n\nDuring the event\, visitors will hear first hand from a range
of women working at NML what their career journeys have been like\, and wi
ll be given the opportunity to ask questions and have informal discussions
to find out more. In addition to this\, there will be employability tasks
and workshops to support participants with identifying their own skills\,
and signposting them to useful resources.\nThis event is aimed at women a
nd non-binary visitors who may be students\, young professionals\, those s
eeking a change of career or those with an interest in finding out more ab
out creative careers.\n\nThis event is free and tickets must be booked in
advance. The event will run from 10:30am-3pm\, however visitors will not b
e turned away if they want to attend specific elements of the day and drop
in at a later time.\n\nPlease feel welcome to signpost this event to any
contacts that this may be useful to.
