Artist Koo Jeong A, in collaboration with Wheelscape Skateparks, worked with young people and skaters in North Liverpool to devise a fully functional wheels park and a new permanent sculpture for the city.

Evertro, the UK’s first glow-in-the dark wheels park, opened in October 2015. Familiar skating forms have been combined with new sculptural elements to create a unique space for experimentation.

The design responds to its immediate surroundings, as well as drawing on Jeong A’s references to diamond shapes and forms conceived through her interpretation of the area. The wheels park is open to skaters and BMX bikers to enjoy.

Commissioned by Liverpool Biennial and Liverpool Mayor
Joe Anderson, in partnership with Friends of Everton
Park, the Land Trust and Liverpool Vision, with support from St Modwen
