DESCRIPTION:Winds of Change\n18 September 2017 - 13 January 2018\nKirkby Ga
llery\n\nLiverpool based photographic artist Tony Mallon has been working
in collaboration with a group of older women from Northwood in Kirkby\, wh

n home for Tony\, who grew up in the area the women are based.\n\nA number
of women from the Golden Years group are known for breaking down stereoty

Liverpool city 'slums'.\n\nWinds of Change brings together a series of co
llaboratively devised and produced photographs\, which reflects these wome
n's lives and activism for their local area. The exhibition and project is
part of a larger project called Culture Shifts. This is a new socially eng
aged photography programme\, working with 12 national and international ph
otographers embedded in communities across seven areas of Liverpool City R
egion. The aim of the project is to work with communities to explore their
stories in a way that is meaningful to them.\n\nCollaborating with photog
raphers\, communities will co-author a series of photo stories\, reflectin
g on their identity\, interests or lives. The photo stories form the basis
of eight exhibitions across seven venues in Liverpool City Region. There
is also a new open online platform\, Photostories\, that anyone is welcom
e to contribute to.\n\nThere is an exhibition launch event on Thursday 14
September between 4.30pm and 6.30pm. If you would like to attend\, please
RSVP to Tina Ball on 443 5617 or tina.ball@knowsley.gov.uk\nYou can enjoy
