SUMMARY:Kirkby Gallery: Kirkby Gallery (Online): Kirkby Gallery Summer Art
 School
DESCRIPTION:Kirkby Gallery Summer Art School\n\nAs well as our incredible H
ome is Where the Art is online offerings\, the Friends of Kirkby Gallery &
amp\; Prescot Museum have helped make it possible for us to run Kirkby Gal
lery Summer Art School - a free six-week online programme of activities fo
cusing on Impressionism.\n\nShortly before Kirkby Gallery entered lockdown
\, we launched the BIG artists book on IMPRESSIONISM\, a resource pack for
schools looking at the art of the Impressionists with a series of creativ
e learning activities to master the various techniques they used.\n\nWe ar
e adapting these activities to create a free six- week online Kirkby Galle
ry Summer Art School for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy at home
 .\n\nEvery Wednesday\, from 22 July to 26 August inclusive\, we will email
you a resource pack with information and instructions for each activity\,
and give you a "heads up" if there is anything you need to prepare for th
e following week.\n\nYou will not need to print anything out. All you will
  need are basic art materials - pencils\, paper\, watercolours\, acrylic a
nd poster paints and brushes.\n\nYou don't have to do all of the activitie
s if you don't want to\, or can't access suitable materials - we will sugg
est alternatives wherever possible.\n\nWe will start with some simple exer
cises to get you into the swing of things\, and for the more experienced a
rtists\, it will be a good opportunity to get back to basics. The activiti
es are for you to enjoy in your own time throughout the week\, we will jus
t be sending the packs to you on Wednesdays for continuity. There are no d
eadlines to meet\, and there is no qualification available\, this is purel
y for your own enjoyment\, to explore the Impressionists at home.\n\nTo si
