DESCRIPTION:Join us to go beyond the canvas and meet the brilliant minds be
 hind the prize-winning works of JMPP25. Hear the stories\, ideas and inspi
 rations that brought their paintings to life in a relaxed and welcoming se
 tting.\n\nKaty Shepherd was shortlisted for this year’s First Prize and 
 was Highly Commended by the judging panel.\n\nKaty was born in Bournemouth
  in 1961. She studied at Sheffield Polytechnic (1980–83) and the Royal C
 ollege of Art\, London (1989-91).\n\nKaty will be talking about her Highly
  Commended work ‘Bedscape2’\, part of a series of works started in 202
 1\, in response to COVID and the enforced periods of isolation she experie
 nced. Having never considered herself a painter of landscapes or still lif
 es\, the surface of her duvet appeared to form a fantastical landscape ful
 l of peaks\, escarpments and folds. Somewhere she could gladly go to escap
 e reality.\n\nKaty will tell us more about how this series of works develo
 ped with a more detailed discussion of her process of creating the Highly 
 Commended ‘Bedscape2’.\n\nWhether you're an art enthusiast\, a curious
  creative\, or simply someone who loves a great conversation\, this is an 
 unmissable opportunity to connect with some of the most exciting voices in
  contemporary painting today.\n\nA small number of chairs will be provided
  for people who are unable to stand for an extended period of time. The ga
 llery is wheelchair accessible with a lift from ground to first floor gall
 eries.  Due to this event taking place on gallery we are unable to use am
