DESCRIPTION:dot-art Schools inter-school art competition is already a well-
 established fixture in the academic calendar for many Liverpool City Regio
 n schools as it is now in its seventh year. Due to its success and a partn
 ership with Liverpool John Moores University\, a parallel programme was al
 so launched in 2017 for Cheshire West &amp\; Chester\, Cheshire East and W
 arrington schools. Since its inception almost 7000 students from 398 schoo
 ls have taken part.\n\nParticipating schools initially submitted up to 25 
 pieces of art created by Year 5 or Year 9 students\, which are then featur
 ed on the dot-art Schools website. The shortlisting panel is made up of ar
 ts professionals including international artist Ryan Gander\, Sandra Penke
 th Executive Director of Collections at National Museums Liverpool and Dr 
 Caroline Wilkinson Director of LJMU Liverpool School of Art &amp\; Design\
 , who select their top three entries from each school. The public were the
 n encouraged to vote online for their favourite piece of work with the ent
 ry from each school with most votes featuring in the final exhibition.\n\n
 The seventh annual dot-art Schools 2019 exhibition featuring winning artwo
 rks from 63 primary and secondary schools across Liverpool City Region ope
 ns to the public on Wednesday 19th June to Tuesday 25th June at LJMU Schoo
 l of Art &amp\; Design\, with free entry from 10am – 5pm each day\, 12 
 – 4pm on Saturday\, closed Sunday.\n\nDot-Art Schools project manager Ca
 rolyn Murray commented: “The standard of artwork improves year on year a
 nd it’s wonderful to have so many creative young artists in the region. 
 The exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for the public to check out the 
 best work by some of the region’s rising stars.”\n\nThe overall winner
 s and runners-up for both primary and secondary categories will be chosen 
 by respected guest judges and announced at special prize-giving ceremonies
  attended by the teachers\, students and their families before the exhibit
