DESCRIPTION:An Independents Biennial Exhibition\nHow Do We Count the Dead?\ nJill Eastland\, Thomas Eastland\, Idit Nathan &\; Sarah Wood\nHow Do W e Count the Dead?\n\nHow do we count the dead? How do we account for the l ives lost and the devastation caused by Israel in Palestine?  How do we c ounter global and national media rhetoric\, politicians lies and propagand a about the genocide in Palestine and the destruction wreaked in the wider Middle East?  Artists\, Jill Eastland\, Thomas Eastland\, Idit Nathan an d Sarah Wood have used numbers to create artwork which attempts to keep a count\, because every ‘body’ counts.  There will also be posters\, po stcards and books in the shop by Idit\, Jill\, Sarah Tom and other artists including\, Inky Mothling\, Mona Chalabi\, and Rosanna Morris.\n\nThis re hanging expands on the June-July exhibition at News From Nowhere.\n\nAny m oney raised will be used for costs and donated to Palestinian causes.\n\n& nbsp\;\n\nAbout BIRCH Studio &\; Gallery:\n\n \;\nBIRCH Studio & \; Gallery is an Artist-led space in Hamilton Square\, Birkenhead. We’ve a bright open gallery space to the front of the building where exciting e xhibitions\, performances\, workshops and events take place. At the rear\,  BIRCH has shared studio spaces\, encouraging community and collaboration between our resident Artists. We house an array of amazing Artists and C reatives from various backgrounds and champion the interdisciplinary Artis t. BIRCH Gallery has a yearly programme of exhibitions &\; events takin g place\, but is also open for hire &\; always accepting project propos als. Daytime there is lots of natural light &\; night time there are fluorescent overhead lights.\n  Chairs &\ ; stools are available to visitors for seating.\n The corridor between ga llery &\; basement staircase is mostly level footing\, there may be sli ghtly uneven footing due to the floorboard sheets. The corridor is well li t with two lights.\n\nToilets:\n\n\n Our bathroom facilities are shared w ith Hamilton Vault Studios and are therefore accessible via a staircase to the basement which has a left turn partway down.\n There is a handrail f or the staircase (I can provide number of stairs if you need\, will just h ave to count next time I’m there).\n After the stairs case it is a shor t walk down a well lit corridor of slightly uneven concrete floor.
