SUMMARY:Invisible Wind Factory: Invisible Wind Factory: Enda Walsh's Mister
 man
DESCRIPTION:NEW PRODUCTION OF ENDA WALSH’S MISTERMAN AT INVISIBLE WIND FA
 CTORY\n\nPerformance dates: 31 May &amp\; 1 June 2017\n\nFollowing the suc
cess of their acclaimed production Scadán last year as part of the Liverp
ool Irish Festival\, Roisin Fletcher and Luke Thomas present this new Iris
h classic at Liverpool’s most exciting venue.\n\nLater this month\, the
duo return to Invisible Wind Factory in association with Liverpool Irish F
estival to present Enda Walsh’s Misterman. Up-and-coming actor Cameron M
cKendrick plays Thomas McGill\, a marginalised member of a small community
town in Ireland in this gripping one-man show of wit\, weirdness and wond
er.\n\n"Sin has become our religion\," mourns Thomas. "Greed is our commun
ion and evil is our God.” The self-proclaimed man of God is tormented by
the behaviour of his neighbours in Inishfree\, and is on a quest for rede
mption. He knows that jovial Dwain Flynn is a miserable drunk\, that Timmy
O'Leary enslaves his lovely mother\, and that sweet Mrs Cleary is a blasp
hemous flirt\, so what is he to do?\n\nAs the plot unfolds\, the audience
witness Thomas’ re-telling\, or rather\, re-making of a very significant
day in the town. Sifting through his archived tape recordings of conversa
tions and arguments with his peers\, Thomas edits their stories\, playing
every character in the town. Directed by Fletcher\, with musical direction
by Luke Thomas\, the staging sees the sometimes bodiless voices of the to
wnsfolk haunt Thomas\, engulfing the central character in his obsessive st
ory telling.\n\nOf his role McKendrick says “After reading Misterman mys
elf I thought it'd be stupid to turn down the opportunity of playing this
unpredictable and misunderstood character. You feel for him and then you
’re disturbed by him.”\n\nDirector Roisin Fletcher says “I saw an ea
rly production of the play starring Cillian Murphy\, which had a massive i
mpact on me\, so I was eager to bring this new writing to more people.”\
n\nRoisin Fletcher and Luke Thomas successfully produced\, directed and mu
sically directed Scadán as part of the Liverpool Irish Festival 2016 at t
he Invisible Wind Factory\, described as "the shining jewel of the festiva
l"  by Getintothis.co.uk.\n\nA story of right and wrong\, religion and re
demption\, Misterman will run for two consecutive nights at Invisible Wind
  Factory\, from 31 May - 1 June. Tickets are £9 / £7.50 for concessions\
 , and available from: http://misterman.brownpapertickets.com/\n\nTickets i
nclude free food on arrival\, created by the very talented chef Brendan Cu
rtis-Burton\, who recently catered the sell-out event Eat Me / Preach at I
