SUMMARY:Hamilton Vault Studios: Impressions of Home: A Contemporary Impress
 ionist exhibition by Charmaine Chaudry
DESCRIPTION:Take a look at our latest exhibition\, exploring the theme of h
ome\, not just as the four walls of your family house\, but as a feeling o
 f belonging\, safety\, and community.\n\nLiverpool-based artist Charmaine
Chaudry comes from a dual-heritage background\, with both English and Paki
stani family\, and she cites this as essential to her work. Throughout her
life\, she has lived across the country\, from Staffordshire to London\,
Oxford and Liverpool. In each place she has had to make her feeling of hom
e in new surroundings\, while feeling\npulled back into an idealised visio
n of her Pakistani heritage\, or her nostalgic English countryside upbring
ing.\n\nHer paintings are based across various locations she has visited.
Travel plays a big part in Charmaine’s work\, she believes it is a speci
al way we can connect and understand each other as humans\, beyond languag
e\, politics and culture. Charmaine frequently depicts scenes from Morocco
\, Turkey\, India and Pakistan\, as well as slightly closer\, where she ha
s\nlived in the UK.\n\nCharmaine hopes that we will be able to relate to t
he intimacy of shared moments or to the dream-like revelry of places we kn
 ow but aren’t known.\n\nExhibition opens to the public: 16th August - 24
  August\, 11am - 4pm
