SUMMARY:OUTPUT Gallery: IB18: OUTPUT gallery: Kate Cooper
DESCRIPTION:OUTPUT exhibition opening\, solo show with Kate Cooper\n\nOUTPU
T gallery invites Knowsley-born Kate Cooper for her first solo show in the
city. Cooper lives and works between London and Amsterdam. She recently c
ompleted her residency at the Rijksakademie\, and is a Director and co-fou
nder of the London-based artist-led organisation Auto Italia. Kate Cooper
’s work centres on the body as a contested space for communication and r
epresentation. In her artistic practice\, she uses CGI to manipulate avata
r bodies in surreal situations\, in which characters function both as obje
cts and as infrastructure. Presented as harbingers of affect\; these ficti
onal liminal bodies are presented as forms of weaponry with which to unpic
k and reject contemporary modes of exploitative labour.\n\nFacebook event:
