SUMMARY:Arena Studios & Gallery: IB18: LOST18: Sarah Ryan
DESCRIPTION:Part of Liverpool Open Studios 2018. Contemporary artists and
makers across 14 venues in Liverpool will open their studios to visitors o
 n Saturday 13th October 2018 for the 3rd Liverpool Open Studios.\n\nOPEN:
 11.00am –  6.00pm\, Saturday 13th October 2018LOCATION: Arena Studios\,
27 Parliament St L8 5RN\n\nHaving trained in Illustration and Design at M
able Fletcher Technical College\, I worked as a freelance artist and desig
ner in both London and Liverpool and am now based at Arena Studios in Live
rpool.\n\nIn my work I aim to create a link between realism and the imagin
ation and am particularly inspired by the natural world\, folk tales and m
usic and cultural experiences that have shaped my life. I work in a variet
y of mediums\,often in mixed media compositions as I enjoy the flexibility
and the ability to overlay colours and textures to create intricate patte
rns and 3D effects.\n\nHaving been inspired by an exhibition of paper art
at the Manchester Art Gallery\,  I have been developing my work using dif
ferent print methods and paper cutting and collage techniques using origam
i and recycled paper and card.
