SUMMARY:Bluecoat Display Centre: IB18: Bluecoat Display Centre: Hope Univer
sity 2018 Graduate Prize Winner – Asiye Inal
DESCRIPTION:Hope University 2018 Graduate Prize Winner – Asiye Inal / Sat
 urday 1st September 2018 - Sunday 30th September 2018\n\nBluecoat Display
Centre are delighted to have selected the ceramics of Asiye Inal\, a Gradu
ate from Liverpool Hope University degree show (for Fine &amp\; Applied
Arts) to be featured In The Window.\n\n“My imagination and creativity ha
ve always been an important ambition in my life and influences almost ever
ything I do. I draw inspiration from my cultural heritage and the Orient.
Different cultures\, art and architecture fascinate and inspire me such as
old Iznik tiles and other motifs and patterns from the Ottoman Empire whi
ch are grounded in these origins. I see my own designs as something very s
entimental often focusing on nature and its endless variety in creating fo
rms\, patterns and shapes. My aim is not to separate different material ar
eas but to link them through the use of common themes. I am currently look
ing at calla lilies\, ‘Lilium Longiflorum’\, how their natural and org
anic forms can be interpreted through the use of different media. I have v
isually interpreted this through my material ideas choosing to design my p
ieces for different purposes and functions appropriate to the media used.
My final collection encompasses this focus in creating visually appealing
yet functional items.” – Asiye Inal
