SUMMARY:Huyton Library: Huyton Gallery: David Holmes: Werewolf in a Jet Pac
 k
DESCRIPTION:Solo exhibition at Huyton Gallery         14 Aug – 28
  Oct 2017\n\nExhibition Title :  “Werewolf in a Jet Pack”\n\nArtist s
tatement\n\nAt Huyton Gallery we present David’s first solo exhibition\,
his work has previously been exhibited throughout Merseyside and the UK.
He likes to move between different mediums and processes\, mainly through
digital imaging\, traditional printmaking and papermaking.\n\nThe main sub
ject of his work is focused on visual culture. We all have access to image
s everywhere\, David uses this access as a source of inspiration\, whether
it be digital or from his collection of resource images and photographs.\
n\nThese visual references can become ideas for artworks which present nar
ratives that depict a past\, present and conjured up events constructed fr
om the acquired imagery\, artefacts\, sketches\, graphics and personal pho
tographs brought together to create a manipulated and imagined world.\n\nT
he images or elements act as pictorial or vague representations with symbo
lic meaning to develop and illustrate the narrative. Through constant addi
tions and layering his digital prints evolve from the construction and org
anisation of elements utilising digital techniques that are sometimes akin
to effects that he uses in traditional printmaking.
