 actitioners interested in making socially engaged art and engaging in crea
 tive projects with boys and young men using an art and youth work approach

 an (Artist and Educator) will be joined by Gillian O’Connor (Youth Wo
 rker at Rialto Youth Project) and Aaron Sunderland Carey (Artist and You
 th Worker at Rialto Youth Project) to introduce and explore collaborative 
 practice with young people\, reflecting upon their experiences of working 
 collaboratively with young people through the Boys in the Making program
 me.\nIn this session we will explore the practice and complexities of coll
 aboration. Throughout the day you will have an opportunity to learn from a
 rtists and youth workers with collaborative practices\, engage with the ge
 nerative potential and challenges of collaboration and have the opportunit
 y to reflect with peers.\nWe will explore the many complex factors that ca
 n affect and impact collaborative practice and meaningful exchange with yo
 ung people. Through this session we will consider the importance of relati
 onship development\, power dynamics\, expectations of ourselves and those 
 we are working with\, the difference between collaboration and participati
 on\, the importance of communication\, radical honesty and managing confli
 ct.\nAttendees will be invited to take part and contribute to a collaborat
 ion workshop\, reflecting on your own experiences and practice of working 
 collaboratively with young people.\nThe day will also include group discus
 sion\, connection\, and opportunities for reflection more broadly on creat
 ive processes and projects\, youth engagement processes\, and youth commun
 ity development working practices relevant to the times we live in.\nWe wi
 ll also be joined by Dr. Ciaran Smyth as our Listener-in-Residence who w
 ill capture and document their own listening and reflections throughout th
 e day.\nLunch and refreshments will be provided.\nFor more information abo

 limited spaces available\, and we are prioritising artists who work with y
 oung people (especially boys and young men) from across the Liverpool City
  Region\, youth workers and those who work with young people\, as well as 
 creative practitioners and those with an interest in developing creative p
 rojects with young people and/or an interest in learning more about collab
 orative practice with young people. This includes but is not limited to ar
 tists\, youth workers\, play workers\, teachers and producers.\n\nWe’re 
 particularly keen to support people with an interest in collaborative\, re
 flective and experimental practice in arts and youth work.\n\nAs space is 
 limited\, if you book a ticket and are no longer able to attend\, please l
 et us know and request a refund so we can offer the space to those on our 
 waitlist.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBursary\nWe are offering a limited number of £
 250 bursaries for artists\, freelancers\, independent producers\, communit
 y practitioners and curators to support attendance of these sessions. Burs
 aries may be used to contribute towards the cost of travel\, accommodation
 \, subsistence\, childcare and/or access costs.\n\nAll artists\, freelance
 rs\, independent producers and curators are eligible to apply. Priority wi
 ll be given to those who would otherwise be unable to attend. Those wishin
