 orkshop in a series of six practical artist professional development sessi
 ons for artists working within socially engaged practice\, hosted by Heart
  of Glass in collaboration with Mark Devereux Projects. The sessions will 
 take place in St Helens between November 2018 and April 2019.  Find out m

 the right opportunity is not always as easy as it sounds. As your career d
 evelops\, opportunities will change and you may start receiving invitation
 s that impede your progress. This workshop\, Finding the right opportunit
 y\, will give tools to help dissect and understand the opportunity you ar
 e offered and how it does or doesn’t relate to your practice ambitions. 
 The session will also look at platforms to find or create the right opport
 unity and how you can increase your success rate\; it will be co-facilita
 ted by Heather Peak Morison\, co-director of STUDIO MORISON. \n\nIntrodu
 cing Heather Peak Morison\n\nHeather Peak Morison has established an ambit
 ious collaborative practice over the past fifteen years that transcends th
 e divisions between art\, architecture and theatre. She is co-director\, w
 ith Ivan Morison\, of STUDIO MORISON\, their artist led creative practice
  which supports and realizes their ideas and projects. On a societal level
  STUDIO MORISON is working to re-establish aspects of civic life and on a 
 human level it looks to bring meaning\, beauty and purpose into everyday l
 ife. They have exhibited internationally including solo projects at Tate M
 odern\, Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney\, Vancouver Art Gallery\, The Na
 tional Trust\, National Theatre Wales and represented Wales at the Venice 
 Biennial. Heather is also employed as an artist strategist for Heart of Gl
 ass and working to deliver Bliss Park\, a sculptural skateable civic squar
 e in St Helens. \n\n&nbsp\;\n\n 	Each workshop will be tailored to the pa
 rticipating artists’ key questions and concerns\; providing information\
 , advice and guidance alongside open discussions and peer-to-peer sharing.
 \n 	Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Workshop lunches will be host
 ed by a different member of the Heart of Glass staff/associate artist team
  to provide informal networking opportunities and access to staff expertis
 e where relevant.\n 	Whilst primarily aimed at artists working within soci
 ally engaged practice\, artists working within other mediums are also welc
 ome.\n 	Sessions can be booked individually or as a whole programme at a d

 lighted to offer a limited number of travel bursaries (up to £50 per indi
 vidual\, per session) to support attendance. Bursaries may be used to cont
 ribute towards the cost of travel and/or childcare costs. All artists atte
 nding (including those who have already booked tickets) are eligible to ap
 ply. Priority will be given to those who would otherwise be unable to atte
 nd. Those wishing to apply for a travel bursary should send the following 
 information by email to criticality@heartofglass.org.uk no later than Th
 ursday 8th November 2018:\n\n 	Amount applied for (up to £50 per individu
 al\, per session)\n 	Brief explanation (200 words max) of how the bursary 
 will support attendance\n 	Breakdown of costs\n\nTravel bursaries will be
