 18.30\n\nBOOK HERE\n\nIn May 2017 we will host the second iteration of our
  conference series With For About. With invited guests and an audience we 
 will explore three conversations on the fierce and urgent questions facing
  collaborative and social art today. Using the following statements by lea
 ding thinkers as provocations\, we will explore collaboration\, language a
 nd our role in an ever changing socio-political landscape.\n\nON COLLABORA
 TION\n\n‘If you have come here to help me\, you are wasting your time. B
 ut if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine\, then l
 et us work together.’ Lilla Watson.\n\nThis conversation will look at th
 e questions:\n\nWho are our collaborators?  Why are we working togethe
 r?\n\nBEYOND THE RHETORIC\n\n‘There is no art practice that avoids all f
 orms of co-option\, compromise\, or complicity’. Grant Kester.\n\nThis c
 onversation will ask how we avoid the co-option of the language and meth
 odology of collaborative and social art practice by neo-liberal agendas an
 d move towards a ‘vision of social justice’ that excludes ‘over simp
 lification’ and ‘quick fixes.’\n\nSOLIDARITY AND ACTION\n\n‘Useful
  art (Arte Util) is about transforming people’s lives\, even on a small 
 scale. It is art as activism and activism as art.’\n\nTania Bruguera.\n\
 nThis conversation will look at the role of art and artists in this time o
 f political and social urgency.  Where should we be working?  What d
 o we need to be doing?  How can we work in solidarity with partners and
  collaborators to ‘convert our fears\, findings and conversations\, into
