SUMMARY:FACT: FACT: Uncertain Data
DESCRIPTION:UNCERTAIN DATA\n\nUncertain Data brings together four artists i
n residence at FACT\, whose work interrogates the trust we place in the da
ta that governs us.\n\n\nHow do our feelings\, emotions and reactions affe
ct how we experience the world? Uncertain Data brings together four arti
sts in residence at FACT\, whose work exposes the complex layers defining
the data that governs us\, and questions the trust we place in it.\nFour n
ewly commissioned artworks invite us to journey through the depths of the
ocean by controlling our emotions in an interactive VR work\; to question
whether a computer algorithm can tell whether we’re lying or telling the
truth\; and to uncover hard facts and data to reveal the human stories be
neath them - ultimately exposing the uncertainty that our world is built o
n.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Jerwood FACT Fellowship Programme is supported by Jerw
ood Arts. The European Media Art Platforms residency program at FACT is su
pported by the Creative Europe Culture Programme of the European Union.\n\
