SUMMARY:FACT: FACT: The (New) Constellation
DESCRIPTION:Resident artists\, The (new) Constellation\, present behind-the
-scenes content from their FACT commission\, alongside a special performan
ce.\nThe (new) Constellation was founded in 2017 by artists Agnes Varnai a
nd Tina Kult\, who joined us back in 2022 as part of their EMAP European
Media Artist-in-Residence Exchange. They live and work in Vienna and expe
riment with a wide range of media\, including virtual reality\, 3D\, insta
llation\, sculpture and film. Their research focuses on creating immersive
experiences that connect the digital and physical realms of different rea
lities.\nDuring their time in Liverpool\, the residents worked on Retrain
ing Laziness (2023)\, a video series produced in collaboration with sound
artist M T Hall. The video series follows a conversation between a human
worker and a malfunctioning robot as they discuss unhealthy production con
ditions and their own relationship to work and time.\nAs part of our 20th
birthday celebrations this October\, the residents return to Liverpool to
present behind-the-scenes content from their commission. The screenings wi
ll take place in Studio/Lab\, our new dedicated space for artists to exper
iment and develop their practice. Additionally\, Agnes and Tina will make
a special costumed appearance!\n\nJoin us to discover more about the proce
sses they use to make their artwork\, and maybe get some creative inspirat
 ion for your own.
