  Pilvi Takala gives us an insight into the artistic process and research t
 hat informs her work. Pilvi’s video works are based on performative inte
 rventions in which she researches specific communities in order to process
  social structures and question the normative rules and truths of our beha
 viour in different contexts. Her works show that it is often possible to l
 earn about the implicit rules of a social situation simply through its dis
 ruption.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPilvi’s video installation Close Watch (on displ
 ay at FACT from 1 March - 2 June) was originally commissioned for the Finn
 ish Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale.\nThis masterclass takes place in
  The Box on the Ground Floor. Join us in Studio/Lab afterwards for a tour 
 of the space\, refreshments and informal discussion.\nIt's important to us
