SUMMARY:FACT: FACT (online): GLOR1A
DESCRIPTION:GLOR1A\n\n\nImmerse yourself in GLOR1A's boundary-defying unive
rse and discover her interactive digital artwork\, SWARM (2022).\n\n\nIn
teract with SWARM (2022)\, a playable work built by FACT Together artist
-in-residence GLOR1A and games designer alpha_rats.\nSet in the near futur
e where humans have the chance to develop a new civilisation\, SWARM enc
ourages players to challenge preconceptions of what is ‘alien’ and to
free themselves from binary thinking.\nAs players work to build a new univ
ersal language\, they are prompted to contemplate their present identity a
nd consider who they have the potential to become. These subconscious thou
ghts are made visible in the creation of a new avatar who encourages relea
se through self expression.\n\nA star constellation accessible at the end
of the gameplay houses reports of everyone who has undergone this transfor
mation\, acting as a point of reflection and social experiment. By encoura
ging power in vulnerability\, SWARM asks: what could be possible if we r
ejected learned binaries and embraced self-acceptance?\nTo conclude her FA
CT Together residency\, GLOR1A presents SWARM within our first-floor gal
lery\, alongside the works of Chila Kumari Singh Burman and artist-in-re
sidence Kerolaina Linkeviča.\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to play (the game is
best played on Google Chrome).\nPlease be aware this game contains CGI ima
 ges of nudity.\n\n\n\n
