SUMMARY:FACT: FACT: Liverpool Artists' Network: LAN Slide Slam
DESCRIPTION:LAN Slide Slam\nWednesday 12th April 2023\, 6.30pm\nFACT\, 88
Wood Street\, Liverpool L1 4DQ\n\nBook your ticket HERE\nNext LAN meeting
will be a Slide Slam at FACT\, which we are really excited about as we’v
e not had a LAN meeting there before and it is a great location in the mid
dle of town.  There is a limit on numbers so we’re managing that via
FREE Eventbrite tickets.\n\nAs well as the Slide Slam presentations\, if a
nyone wants to just introduce themselves\, say a few words\, make an anno
uncement\, advertise something they are doing etc in the usual LAN way\, t
hen you are welcome to do that also.\n\nLAN SLIDE SLAM \n\nSpeakers at L
AN meetings usually talk about a project that they are working on or a pro
ject they want to start.  This is great! BUT\, we also want to encourage
speakers to come and present about themselves and their work\, to say\, t
his is who I am/what I do/what I have been thinking about.  The LAN Slide
Slam is your chance to do this.\n\nIf you’d like to present:\n\nYou wil
l be asked to show 10 images\, each for 40 seconds. The images advance a
utomatically and you talk along to the images.  So you get 6 minutes to d
o your presentation.\n\nOther than the format of 10 slides and 40 seconds
per slide\, you can talk about whatever you want: your interests in gener
al\, work you have made in the past\, exhibitions or projects you’ve bee
n part of\, specific themes that interest you\, other artists who inspire
you – whatever you think you need to say to connect with the kind of peo
ple who you want to link up with.\n\nWe have a limited number of spaces fo
r the presentations\, so if you would like to introduce Liverpool to your
work\, please email us ASAP to let us know.  We’ll take names on a fi
rst come first served basis.\n\nIf you’d like to just come and watch:\n\
nIf you just want to watch the presentations you’ll need to book a FREE
eventbrite ticket HERE. The ticket is for a place to view the presentat
 ions.\n\nWe’re meeting in FACT’s Gallery 2 space (located on the 1st f
loor\, facing the bar) where there are a limited number of chairs\, howeve
r you are welcome to sit on the floor if chairs run out – there are bean
bags too! Please let us know if you would like a chair reserving due to ac
cessibility needs. The space has full wheelchair access. Pease let us know
by contacting us via email if you have any other requirements relating to
accessibility and we will discuss the best ways we can accommodate you.
