DESCRIPTION:New exhibition dates: Wed 12th August - Sun 13 Dec\nGallery ope
 ning times: Wed - Sat\, 12:00 - 19:00 // Sun\, 12:00 - 17:00\n\nExhibition
  link: https://www.fact.co.uk/event/and-say-the-animal-responded\n\nWhat
would animals say to us if we listened to them? What might we learn about
the state of our shared planet? On 12 August\, FACT opens major new art ex
hibition\, And Say the Animal Responded? continuing its year long explorat
ion of The Living Planet.\n\n\n\nAs we emerge from this period of isolatio
n\, and refocus our attention on a rapidly changing climate\, And Say the
Animal Responded? creates a space for the voice of the animal that we ha
ve gained greater awareness of during this time.\n\nTune in to a choir of
whales and dolphins ‘singing’ to an artist’s undersea instrument\, e
ncounter the quiet presence of wolf pack filmed from above\, meet a family
of chimps startled by a camera in their rainforest home\, listen to a liv
e colony of leafcutter ants turned scratch DJs\, witness a computer-genera
ted re-creation of an extinct rhino glitch in and out of existence. This i
mmersive exhibition brings you face to face with animals from around the w
orld through film\, art and creative technology.\n\nAnd Say the Animal Res
ponded? presents work by five international artist/artist groups who have
captured animal voices through the use of human technology. Explore the g
alleries for free as we question the relationship between human and animal
. If we put the animal’s perspective before that of the human\, what wou
ld they tell us about the current state of the planet - and what can we le
arn from this?\n\nFeaturing artists Ariel Guzik (Mexico)\, Amalia Pica (Ar
gentina/UK) with Rafael Ortega (Mexico)\, Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg (UK)\,
Demelza Kooij (Netherlands/UK) and Kuai Shen (Ecuador)\, the exhibition ta
kes its title from philosopher Jacques Derrida’s essay of the same name.
\n\nWe're really looking forward to seeing you but our number one priority
is keeping you safe. Our new exhibition has been carefully adapted to ena
ble health and safety measures such as social distancing.\n\nYou can plan
your visit beforehand and take a look at the changes we've made to keep yo
 u safe by clicking here.\n\n
