H e is also one of the most famous American pastelists.\n\nHe exhibited in t he fourth\, final\, show of the Society of Painters in Pastel in New York in 1890. The urban landscape\, summer gardens and abstracted night skies a ll were captured by his hand\, working in this medium.”\n\nDay 1. Basic Techniques\n\nOn the first day\, using still life objects\, we will practi ce basic techniques including\; blending\, colour mixing\, cross hatching\ , stippling and sgraffito.\n\nDay 2. Landscape\n\nUsing the techniques lea rnt in Day 1\, we will each recreate one of Hassam’s famous portraits. B asic landscapers for beginners\, to more detailed landscapes for people lo oking for a refresh.\n\nDay 3.
