Karolina Borchardt
Private view – Â Thursday 19 November 2015 17.00 – 20.00
continues until Saturday 21 November 2015
Born in 1905 Karolina became Poland’s first female aviator and after escaping Soviet occupied Poland she settled in London in 1943. Being an astute business woman she invested in property making sufficient money to enable her to devote her life to painting until her death in 1995.
Despite achieving considerable success and international recognition as an artist she was always reluctant to sell her works often buying them back from her numerous exhibitions.
After her death virtually her entire collection was acquired by the Chapman family who run, amongst other businesses, Orange Plant.
Trish and Joanna Chapman have very kindly decided to put the works up for sale and being long-term and generous supporters of the charity will donate the proceeds to Autism Together.
This will be a rare and possibly the only opportunity to see and to acquire this talented artist’s unique and inspiring work here on Merseyside.
