SUMMARY:Editions Ltd: Editions Ltd: Carol Emmas - On Deck
DESCRIPTION:Carol Emmas- \nOn Deck\nPop-up Exhibition\n\n8th May - until 28
th May\n\nWe have been planning for a while now to make some space for spo
ntaneous shows from artists whose work we know and admire but whose availa
bility doesn't always fit with our scheduled exhibition calendar.\n\nWe're
really pleased that our first ad hoc show features the work of Wirral bas
ed artist/photographer Carol Emmas\, whose photographic work investigates
the close up world of textures and colours that are all around us but that
we often miss. Her work has a real painterly quality and she skillfully e
xtracts beautiful compositions from the found environment.\n\n"I've never
been interested in the larger picture - it has always been about getting u
p close. My images and landscapes are found in the patina of\; oxidised me
tals\, weathered wood and on sea-washed textures. I look to mirror images
that have similarly existed in the world of abstract expressionist art. Ho
wever\, my images are as natural and organic as the elements that have cre
ated them.\n\nFor me\, it's all about looking deeply into things we would
 ordinarily overlook."
