SUMMARY:Liverpool Cathedral: Liverpool Cathedral: Ecclesiart in Cathedrals
 Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Art+Christianity for a day of two art tours to both cathed
rals – the Anglican and the Roman Catholic – with leading specialist L
aura Moffatt. Both cathedrals have truly outstanding collections of 20th-
and 21st-century art\, from artists such as Elisabeth Frink\, Ceri Richard
s\, John Piper\, Tracey Emin\, Christopher LeBrun and Susannah Heron.\n\nT
hese tours are a ‘director’s pick’ of unusual and often overlooked w
orks of art in cathedrals. Most tours in cathedral focus on their architec
ture and on historic artefacts\, but cathedrals are living buildings and t
he contributions of artists of recent generations comprise a treasure trov
e of delights.\n\nWe’re calling the series ‘Ecclesiart in Cathedrals
’ as the tours are a direct result of many years’ work on a part of th
e A+C website called Ecclesiart – an online resources that spotlights ov
er 100 modern and contemporary works of art in churches and cathedrals. Se
e our website for details of more tours\, including one to Manchester Cath
 edral on 4 July.\n\nBOOK HERE: https://artandchristianity.org/events/eccle
