If for a ny reason our venues have to close due to future restrictions\, our course s will be going ahead online which means no course cancellations (is that a cheer we can hear?) book with confidence and start the new year off in a positive\, mindful and creative way. \n\n------------------------------ ----------------------\n\nProgramme:\n\nLed by renowned Liverpool based ar tist Roy Munday\, you will learn a variety of watercolour techniques inclu ding:\n\n How to lay on a basic graduated wash\n Wet-in-wet and wet-on-d ry\n Combing these two essential techniques together with a variegated wa sh using more than one colour\n\nRoy will then introduce a subject to the class and demonstrate the exercise before you practice yourself. These exe rcises will follow the principle of 'lets keep it simple' so that your eff ort can be about mastering the technique of using watercolour.\n\nYou will start by using one colour\, so you can concentrate on the application of paint without the complication of colour and how to work tonally. Working from a simple subject you will be shown how to use watercolour effectively so that you can achieve fluid\, refreshing and spontaneous paintings\, fo r which watercolour is most suited. You will be encouraged to simplify the subject rather than working to exact detail and fiddling – which often ends in overworked or static paintings.\n\nThe emphasis of the course will be to give you confidence so that you can take chances with the medium an d experiment to create exciting work. You will be encouraged to work at ho me\, if time allows\, to speed-up your progress.\n\nTutor: Roy Munday\n\nR oy is trained in traditional techniques in both fine art drawing and water colour\, which he uses to create his own portfolio of striking artwork.
