SUMMARY:dot-art Gallery: dot-art: Private View: Around The World In Black &
  White
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday 30th March\, 17:00 - 19:00 for the launch a
nd private view of our new exhibition 'Around The World In Black &amp\; Wh
ite'.\n\nRegister HERE\n\nAn exhibition featuring Daniel Meakin\, Clare Wr
ench\, Steve Bayley\, Susan Brown and John Petch.\n\nThis exhibition from
dot-art Artist Members transports us ‘Around the World in Black &amp\; W
hite’\, stopping off in Spain\, Greece\, France and many more iconic des
tinations. Taken from their travels\, the artists in this exhibition share
with us some of the delights our world has to offer\, from civilisations
gone before to buzzing cities.\n\nThis group show combines the geometric s
tyle of John Petch\, the graphic nature of Susan Brown’s lino prints and
the loose pen and ink sketches from Steve Bayley. All coming together und
er the theme of global landmarks and making a monochrome statement.\n\nCla
re Wrench – “The paintings were inspired by a city break in Rome seve
ral year's ago when I visited several locations from the film Roman Holida
 y. The black and white theme of this exhibition brought back memories of m
y trip\, looking nostalgically through my photo album. I imagined I was on
holiday like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.”\n\nDaniel Meakin –
“Over the last several years I have been executing paintings influenced
by the rich urban tapestry and diverse architectural history of cities suc
h as Paris\, Venice\, and Barcelona\, my home city of 20 years. My working
process consists of compiling visual studies such as sketches\, photos\,
etc\, then prompting the layering of collage.”\n\nSusan Brown - “Blac
k and white linocut prints are a powerful way to capture the essence of a
city\, highlighting it's architectural character\, energy and mood. My wor
k focuses on the use of negative space and the bold lines of skyscrapers a
nd ancient temples.”\n\nSteve Bayley – “Pen and ink is one of my fa
vourite mediums. I enjoy the control when using pens and markers and alway
s think the bold black and white pictures can be quite striking. My pictur
e of Corsica is inspired by artist John Minton and the picture is in his s
tyle. It’s a style I’ve often taken inspiration from when drawing in b
lack and white.”\n\nJohn Petch – “An interesting and challenging ad
dition to my art portfolio. I am familiar with painting the interaction of
space and shape using colour but have relished the opportunity and artist
ic challenge of using solely black and white. I have selected four iconic
buildings\; Empire State Building\, Golden Gate Bridge\, The Eiffel Tower
and St. Paul’s Cathedral.”\n\nAll artworks are for sale.\n\nExhibition
  continues Friday 31st March - Saturday 20th May.\n\nVISIT: Tuesday - Satu
 rday\, 10:00 - 18:00\n\nContact Us / Visit Us / Find Out More
