SUMMARY:dot-art Gallery: dot-art: A Walk in Autumn
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the change in seasons dot-art Gallery presents A W
alk in Autumn\, a new exhibition depicting autumnal landscapes in places t
hat are continents apart. This double-bill showcase will feature paintings
by Hazel Thomson and Thao Nguyen\, and will be open to the public from Fr
iday 18th October.\n\nJoin us in championing local artists and independent
businesses as we showcase a selection of original artworks and limited ed
ition fine art prints.\n\nFeaturing artists: Thao Nguyen and Hazel Thomson
.\n\nThao Nguyen has created a series of new work for this show inspired
by her childhood memories growing up in semi-rural Vietnam. These original
acrylic and beeswax pieces celebrate the poeticism of an autumn in Vietna
m\, the fleeting vibrancy and rhythm of nature accentuated by bold\, orang
e hues. Her mixture of both landscape and townscape are painted entirely f
rom memory\, the low warm sunlight a recurring feature in her compositions
.\n\nFor Liverpool artist Hazel Thomson\, the depths of British woodland
are a regular subject matter. For this showcase\, Hazel looks back to loca
tions where she has lived or explored before\, often painting plein air\,
or from her own photography. Varying from bright\, crisp autumn mornings\,
to soft\, dappled light cast by bare-branched trees\, Hazel’s Liverpool
and Cheshire compositions portray a striking visual reality. Her meticulo
us yet sensitive detail using oils\, portrays the beautiful contrast betwe
 en light and shade.
