 r with an international programme of surreal\, absurd\, and experimental c
 inema.\n\nThe featured short for this edition is Hotel Kalura by award-win
 ning UK animator Sophie Koko Gate\, whose acclaimed work has screened at S
 undance\, SXSW and Tate Modern\, and who was shortlisted for the 2023 Film
  London Jarman Award. Set on the romantic island of Sicily\, Hotel Kalura 
 is a dazzling animated tale that blends humour and dreamlike strangeness i
 n Koko Gate’s distinctive style.\n\nAlso screening is Les Bêtes by Mich
 ael Granberry\, an award-winning animation director whose credits include 
 Severance\, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio\, and Adventure Time. His lav
 ish stop-motion fantasy\, made entirely from recycled puppets\, draws on t
 he traditions of 1930s animation while pushing into darker territory.\n\nT
 he wider lineup brings together twelve shorts from across the UK\, US\, Ir
 an\, Spain\, France\, Sweden\, Estonia and Ireland. Highlights include Par
 is James’ Liverpool-made The Rime\, a tense drama set by the Mersey\; Ra
 smus Lindkvist’s Hello Again and Lost in Galactic Translation from Swede
 n\; and Jim and Joseph Dethick’s Hand Painted Wooden Reptiles\, a Lynchi
 an detective tale. Audiences will also encounter Alone by Negah Sohrabi &a
 mp\; Abofazel Amir (Iran)\, Call of Nature by Donal O’Dea (Ireland)\, Ke
 ijo on the Go by Katrina Oll &amp\; Alex Toodu (Estonia)\, Must Ash by Joh
 n Akre (USA)\, No Trespassing in Transylvania by Michael\, Maxwell &amp\; 
 Emmett Dorfman (USA)\, Stopclock by Maxwell Hicks (UK)\, The Ultimate Weap
 on by Romain Revert (France)\, To Dinner by Robert Rabanal (Spain)\, and T
 yping… by Pablo Olewski Díaz (Spain).\n\nFrom monster comedies and poet
 ic hauntings to DIY horror and satirical animations\, the programme promis

 DoES Liverpool\, a community-driven makerspace in The Tapestry\, and is pr
