DESCRIPTION:Pool Our Resources!\n\nThree days of free skills-swaps\, worksh
 ops\, demonstrations and food-sharing at Crosby Library. 17th\, 18th\, 20t
 h October 2018\n\n \n\nPool our Resources will look at how we are reintr
 oducing elements of craft\, thrift and upcycling back into our everyday li
 ves.  You’re invited to a celebration of the strength and depth of col
 lective knowledge\, a reminder of the importance of our social spaces\, an
 d the positive effect of skill-sharing on health and wellbeing.  Join us 
 how to learn to bake bread\, pickle vegetables\, make soap\, make a pictu
 re frame\, save seeds from garden produce or mend a puncture. Workshops 
 led by artists\, librarians\, social enterprises and local people include 
 DIY with Bootle Tool Shed\, Embroidery with Dorlin's Haberdashers\, Bread 
 for beginners by Homebaked\, and candle-making with Ford Lane Allotments.
  And if you can ferment veg peel\, darn socks\, throw a pot or propagate
  plants\, your valuable knowledge is required!\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAll workshops
  and sessions are free and drop in\, but places are limited so turn up ear
 ly to secure your slot!  Suitable for anyone of any age with any level of
  experience – or none!\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nEveryone is welcome and everything 
 is free!\n\n \n\nPool Our Resources is a project by artist Sean Roy Parke
 r\, initiator of PEFA projects\, lead artist at Camden Arts Centre and che
 f at The Brixton Pound.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThe Human Library believes that ever
 yone has “gifts of the heart\, the head and the hand” to offer. The Hu
 man Library project is organised by Sefton Libraries with funding from Art

  started with embroidery - or trouble-shoot your stitchery needs.\n\n&nbsp
 \;\n\nCollette Whittington  - printmaking\n\nA relief print workshop usin
 g Block\, Roller and Lino printmaking techniques to create bespoke designs
  for a library takeaway tote bag.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nLunch 1 – 2\n\n \n\nHum
 an Library volunteers – chapatti-making\n\nMarj and Niamh will be cookin
 g up chapattis to eat for lunch.  Learn the tricks of how to make this de
 licious traditional bread that costs only pennies.\n\n \n\nAfternoon 2 
 – 4 \n\n \n\nSufea Mohamad Noor -  make your own cleaning products\n\n
 Join Sufea for a hands-on demonstration of how to make cost-effective\, ec
 o-friendly cleaning products using ingredients from the kitchen/garden. PL
 US Learn how to make reusable cloth bags for shopping using recycled texti
 les.\n\n \n\nBootle Toolshed -  simple upholstery and woodwork\n\nCover 
 seat pad with new fabrics and learn how to make a planter\, using donated 
 materials.\n\n \n\nNathan – DIY!\n\nAll the skills you need to wire a p
 lug\, change a fuse\, fix household equipment.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n \n\n \n\n

 n\nTheo Vass - Framing on a budget \n\nLearn how to make a frame for your 
 artwork or photos using simple techniques\n\n \n\nBrixton Pound - picklin
 g workshop\n\nMake some vegetable pickles and ferments with Sean Roy Parke
 r. Bring a clean jar with a lid if you want to take your pickles away.  (

 skills with Emily – continue what you started or begin something new.\n\

 ds on introduction to bread-making with baker Mark Loudon.  Learn the ing
 redients and processes for a perfect loaf. Take your dough home to cook in
  your own oven and fill your home with the smell of delicious freshly-bake
 d bread.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAfternoon 2 – 4\n\n \n\nB4 Biodiversity - candle
  making\n\nA practical workshop making scented tealights from beeswax from
  the hives and apiaries at Ford Lane allotment\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nFrances Disle
 y - hydrosols and soaps\n\nAs the hydrosol distils gorgeous herbal fragran
 ces from foraged plants\, make simple soap or mix your own bespoke scents 
 to take away.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nGordon\, Crosby Librarian - guitar strings\n\n
 Find out how to restring your guitar\, or make a cigar box guitar from scr
 ap materials\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n \n\nSaturday 20th 11 - 2\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nGavin 
 and Ian\, Crosby Librarians - Bike fix 101\n\nGet some essential bike main
 tenance skills:  mend a puncture\, change a tyre\, fix your brakes\, repl
 ace your bike chain - demos and maybe some hands on practice.\n\n&nbsp\;\n
 \nFoodsketz – make a meal for a pound\n\nArtist-chefs Alison and Cat wil
 l share how to prep simple but tasty food from leftovers and low cost ingr
 edients in this hands- on workshop.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nBluebird Upholstery - up
 holstery demo\n\nWatch Imogen at work as she brings old furniture back to 
 life using traditional hand skills and talk about the processes.\n\n&nbsp\
