SUMMARY:Corke Gallery: Corke Art Gallery: Corke New Contemporaries
DESCRIPTION:Corke New Contemporaries\nThis year the Corke Gallery is one of
the sponsors of the John Moores Painting Prize\, in its 60th year during
the 2018 Liverpool Biennial\, and our NEW CONTEMPORARIES exhibition opens
on Friday 13 April 2018 and marks the start of the Corke Gallery’s new
season of ten separate exhibitions which run through to December 2018.\nI
n 2017 we were so impressed with the standard of painting at the Liverpool
Hope University Fine Art Department the Corke Gallery agreed to offer an
Exhibition Award to the student or students whose work stood out at 2017 F
ine Art Graduate Degree show.\nThe standard of the students work at the De
gree Show was very high and made the selection process particularly diffic
ult.  After viewing all the paintings in the show we finally decided that
four students stood out and this NEW CONTEMPORARIES exhibition features n
ew artworks by all four artists as well as a few that were included in the
Degree Show.  A particular highlight\, and a first at the Corke Gallery\
,  will be Olivia Maddocks whole room painting which will feature a singl
e painting covering all the walls and the floor of one of the gallery room
s.\nThe gallery opening hours have changed slightly so we are now open fro
m 10am – 2pm from Thursday to Saturday and by appointment.  To make
an appointment please call 07773 287827 or email nic@corke.net
