SUMMARY:Cornerstone: Capstone Theatre: Roberto Fabbriciani: A Tribute to Lu
 igi Nono
DESCRIPTION:\n\nBefore the concert in the Capstone Theatre at 6.45pm\, Robe
rto Fabbriciani will talk about his work with Luigi Nono in a 30 minute pr
e-concert interview and Q&amp\;A session. All ticket holders are welcome t
o attend. The concert takes place at 7.30pm\n\n--\n\n\nProgramme:\n\nSteph
en Davismoon - Passed/Passing (1999) for bass flute and live electronics
 .\nRoberto Fabbriciani - “Omaggio a Luigi Nono” (2006) for small f
lute and tape.\nLuigi Nono - Das atmende Klarsein\, fragmente (1980/87)
for bass flute\, tape and live electronics.\n\n--\n\nRoberto Fabbriciani\
, flautist and composer\, presents this concert for the centenary of the b
irth of Luigi Nono (1924 – 1990)\, as a tribute to the composer's des
ire to experiment and innovate.\n\nThe concert will close with Nono's wor
k for bass flute and electronics Das atmende Klarsein\, fragmente. This
work was born from the composer's experimentation with Fabbriciani on the
new expressive possibilities of a traditional instrument in relation to li
ve electronics. The work was made at the Experimental Studio of the Heinri
ch-Strobel Stiftung in Freiburg\, the studio where Nono made many of his
works with electronics.\n\nAt the same studio in Freiburg\, the electroni
c part of Roberto Fabbriciani's composition Omaggio a Luigi Nono for p
iccolo was made. It is a piece born in the same vein of Nono’s: explor
ing the expressive potential of this instrument. Referring to the same spi
rit of research and experimentation\, the concert opens with the work Pas
sed/Passing by Stephen Davismoon\, who is interested in what can be defin
ed as a new virtuosity that consists in focusing on the analysis of the si
ngle sound.\n\n--\n\nNB: a combined ticket for this concert and the concer
t later that evening (Fri 8th March 2024) at 9pm 'Florence Acousmatic Musi
c' can be purchased via Ticketquarter for £16.50 (incl bf)\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n
