SUMMARY:The Brindley: The Brindley: Markmakers - Interval
DESCRIPTION:Interval is an exhibition by artists group “Markmakers".  Ha
lton's contemporary arts collective.  Members of the group have exhibite
d regionally\, nationally and internationally with artists involved in nat
ional touring exhibitions and international residencies.  Collectively th
e group have built a name for interesting and thoughtful exhibitions and a
re supported by curators from across the country.  Now the group has retu
rned to home turf to present their work to local visitors and guests from
beyond Halton in their new exhibition titled “Interval”.\n\nThe theme
took the artists on a journey through questions like\; What is an interval
and does anything of interest happen there?  What are the intervals in m
y life and what happens in wider world when an interval occurs?  The answ
ers to these questions and more can be seen within the work which is being
exhibited at The Brindley Art Gallery during Autumn 2017.\n\n“Taking a
word as a brief was a challenge at first.” says Markmakers artist Jane
Chapman\, “but as we started to do our own research\, hear others thoug
hts and see others work evolving the idea of an interval became more and m
ore inspiring and intriguing.” \n\nCurator and Curious Minds Manager Lo
uise Hesketh said\;  “I’ve followed the group for several years. The
se exhibitions always reflect the great wealth of talent within the Markma
kers collective.  Artists from the group have become internationally reco
gnised but still provide inspiration for their local Halton community.  W
hen they turn up on your doorstep they are well worth a visit.”\n\nThe g
roup hope that the exhibition will present an opportunity for visitors to
experience their own interval\, a chance to step to the side of busy every
day life and spend some quiet moments with thoughtful art.\n\nThe exhibit
ion begins on Monday 2nd October and runs until 25th November.  The Bri
ndley Art Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10.00am until 5.00 pm andSat
urday 10.00am until 2.00pm\, it is closed Sundays and bank holidays.  Af
ter this exhibition this work and new pieces will tour to Ordsall Hall in
Salford.  For more info on this exhibition please visit www.salfordcommu
