 .\n\n\n\nMoving beyond the framed surface and the bounded physicality of p
 ainting\, “Dimensions Variable” challenges traditional curatorial appr
 oaches to painting\, with a series of paintings which reject pictorial ill
 usion\, in order to present a paintings’ physical attributes (the underl
 ying structure and stretched surface) as the subject instead.\n\nWith each
  painting's ability to be displayed in a variety of ways\, it allows them 
 to question and directly respond to the space in which they are displayed 
 to propose painting as something immersive as opposed to static.\n\nWhethe
 r hung\, propped\, suspended or left entirely free standing - these painti
 ngs are kept in a constant state of flux between a sculptural object and p
 ainterly prop\, effectively blurring the distinction between painting and 
 sculpture.\n\n
