 Casey Lauren\nMoving beyond the framed surface and the bounded physicality
  of painting\, “Dimensions Variable” challenges traditional curatorial
  approaches to painting\, with a series of ten paintings which reject pict
 orial illusion\, in order to present a paintings’ physical attributes (t
 he underlying structure and stretched surface) as the subject instead.\nWi
 th each featured painting's ability to be displayed in a variety of ways\
 , it allows them to question and directly respond to the space in which th
 ey are displayed to propose painting as something immersive as opposed to 
 static.\nWhether hung\, propped\, suspended or left entirely free standing
  - these paintings are kept in a constant state of flux between a sculptur
 al object and painterly prop\, effectively blurring the distinction betwee
 n painting and sculpture.
