Spanning across the summer\, this exhibition brings together an array of new works from our Artist Members and display s a snapshot of their exciting portfolios.\n\nEvery year\, we put out an o pen call to our Artist Members to propose new exhibition ideas. Last year our very own Dorothy Benjamin\, who paints British landscapes in oils\, p roposed this exhibition idea\, as a way of responding to the cost-of-livin g crisis.\n\nJames Oppenheim published his poem ‘Bread and Roses’ in t he 1915 book ‘The Cry For Justice: An Anthology of the Literature of Soc ial Protest’. The poem is associated with the textile strike in Massach usetts during early 1912\, now often known as the “Bread and Roses strik e.” The strike\, which united dozens of immigrant communities under the leadership of the Industrial Workers of the World\, was led to a large ext ent by women.\n\nRunning in parallel to Liverpool Art Fair\, the princip les are the same\; art is for everyone\, for us all to enjoy and have acce ss to. One of the ways we at dot-art fulfil our mission is by connecting a rt lovers with affordable\, original works while providing vital support t o the artists who create them.\n\n“Small art and love and beauty their d rudging spirits knew--\nYes\, bread we fight for--but we fight for Roses\, too.”\n\n- James Oppenheimand in the future.\n\nAll artworks are for sa le.\n\n\n ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.artinliverpool.com/wp-content/upload s/2026/05/image-4.webp CATEGORIES:Exhibitions LOCATION:dot-art Gallery\, 14 Queen Avenue\, off Castle St.\, Liverpool\, L 2 4TX\, Liverpool\, United Kingdom GEO:53.406693;-2.991183 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=14 Queen Avenue\, off Castl e St.\, Liverpool\, L2 4TX\, Liverpool\, United Kingdom;X-APPLE-RADIUS=100 ;X-TITLE=dot-art Gallery:geo:53.406693,-2.991183 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VTIMEZONE TZID:Europe/London X-LIC-LOCATION:Europe/London BEGIN:DAYLIGHT DTSTART:20260329T020000 TZOFFSETFROM:+0000 TZOFFSETTO:+0100 TZNAME:BST END:DAYLIGHT END:VTIMEZONE END:VCALENDAR
