 om artist Madeleine Pires\, creator of the Flower Street Murals in Kirkdal

 e-day session is packed with valuable artistic knowledge and technical ins
 ights such as:\n\n· Analysing your wall\, measuring and planning\n\n· Us
 ing photography and Photoshop to experiment with colours and produce visua
 l references\n\n· Breaking down your vision into realistic stages (form\,
  negative space\, colour\, detail)\n\n· Types of paint and varnish (with 
 physical examples)\n\n· Ways of scaling up your design (with visual examp
 les and demonstration)\n\nMadeleine will also give useful advice and tips 
 about leading a community project\, including:\n\n· How to put together a
  school workshop to transfer to the mural\n\n· "Consulting" local people 
 and involving them\n\n· Working with children and letting them be involve
 d but safe\n\n· Building your team and delegating tasks to volunteers\n\n
 Other practical points:\n\n· Operating powered access machines: what to e
 xpect\n\n· Building a security area around your working space\n\n· Organ
 ising your equipment/paints/tools\n\nThere will be time for participants t
 o respond\, ask questions and network.\n\nPlease note: this session is for
  experienced artists who already have good drawing and painting skills\, a
 nd who do not have a problem with working at height.\n\nDates\n\nSaturday

  a maximum of 8 places available on the course\, so early booking is essen

 le.\n\nCancellations / Refunds\n\nOnce you have made your course booking y
 ou are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small studen
 t numbers\, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore an
 y cancellations may result in a place not being filled\, or a course not b
 eing able to run.\n\nCancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the 
 start of a course\, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be 
 made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If 
 you are unable to attend due to illness\, personal or professional commitm
 ents you do not have the right to a refund.\n\nIf you wish to cancel your 
 place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or collea
 gue who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.
