SUMMARY:Bluecoat: Bluecoat: Sean Edwards Performance Lecture: Thickness on
 Paper
DESCRIPTION:Sean Edwards Performance Lecture: Thickness on Paper\n\nThursda
 y\, 4 February 2016\, 18.00 - 19.30\nTickets: £3/2\, booking via Bluecoat
\n\nTaking as it’s starting point a Billiards and Snooker instruction ma
nual published in 1957 by Richard Holt this second draft of a ‘work in p
rogress’ will sit somewhere between a lecture\, an instructional video a
nd a ‘live’ moment of studio practice that will set the piece as an in
stigational proposition akin to the moment of ball-contact itself.\n\nHavi
ng learned to stand properly at the table and how to hold and strike with
the cue\, let us now study the basic ball contacts\, which are: full-ball\
, half-ball\, three- quarter ball and quarter ball. By implanting these fi
rmly in our minds we are enabled to make intermediate contacts when requir
ed.\n\nTo make such contacts is\, with the obvious exception of the full-b
all\, called ‘dividing the object-ball.’\n\nThe lecture will include a
rare screening of Edwards’ 2007 video\, ‘Table’.
