DESCRIPTION:Punctum: Reflections on Sociology in Public\nWed 29 Nov 7pm\nFr
ee\, booking advised\n\nJoin us for a talk by Bluecoat Sociologist in Resi
dence Dr Paul Jones\, who will be looking back at his time here\, and refl
ecting upon some of the ways in which academics - and sociologists in part
icular - can seek to become more ‘public’ in their work.\n\nDrawing to
gether reflections on what has been an exciting and extremely stimulating
year’s residency\, he will question the responsibility of academics to f
ind alternative ways of doing their research and teaching. Paul will be su

have grown from his time as Bluecoat’s Sociologist in Residence.\n\nPau

on some of her own experiences\, Lynsey will explore the ways in which res

having written Estates: An Intimate History (2007) and Respectable: The E
xperience of Class (2016) - she is also a highly-acclaimed media commentat
